Bio

 

Loryn Fujinami is a third year junior theatre major at Denver School of the Arts. Before that, she performed with Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids. Her credits with them include Tiger Lily in Peter Pan, Elsa in Sound of Music, Rosie in Bye Bye BIrdie, Gabriella in High School Musical 2, Witch in Into the Woods, and featured vocalist in Fame the Musical. At DSA she has been trained in Grotowski, Stanislavsky, Uta Hagen, dialects, clowning, scene work, stage combat, improv, stage makeup, stagecraft lighting and costume design, Shakespeare, Moliere, and audition/monologue technique. Her teachers include Brandon Becker, Shawn Hann, Candy Brown (movement), Tim Grant (Shakespeare), Allen Osburn (scene/monologue work), Harvey Johnson (scene work), Brian Shea (scene work), and Alison Watrous (director). Her credits at DSA include Gret in Top Girls, Chorus in Medea, Christmas Eve in Avenue Q, Woman in Good Doctor (directed by Tim Grant), The Duchess of Berwick in Lady Windermere's Fan (directed by Allen Osburn), Gramophone in Failure a Love Story (directed by Alison Watrous). Last year she performed as the Princess in Romeo and Juliet: Glee Edition in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also done scene study for Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley, Brighton Beach Memiors by Neil Simon, Baby with the Bathwater by Christopher Durang and Watermelon Boats by Wendy Mclaughlin. She had the pleasure of acting in three senior-directed one act play festivals. Her characters included Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra, Evelyn in The Shape of Things by Neil Labute, and Steph in Reasons to be Pretty by Neil Labute. She is currently discovering playwrighting for her junior project, Too Much Light and is excited to audition for colleges at nationals this summer and intern.
